Messaging policy
Deyn sends SMS and email to your clients on your behalf. Carriers in every country have rules about this, and so do we.
What may be sent
- Reminders about a payment that is due or late.
- Confirmations: a loan was paid out, a payment was received, a loan is cleared.
- Statements and balance information the client asked for.
- Plain account messages written by your staff to a specific client.
What may not be sent
- Marketing or promotions of any kind.
- Messages to people who are not your clients or who asked you to stop.
- Threats, shaming, or contact with a client's family, employer or friends about a debt.
- Messages at unreasonable hours. Set your reminder hour for the working day.
Consent and opting out
By entering a client's number you confirm they agreed to receive account messages from your business. If a client asks you to stop, deactivate reminders for them or remove the number. Keep a note of the request.
Sender names and numbers
Messages are sent from a shared number or sender name unless your package includes your own. Replies to a shared number are not delivered to you; put your business phone in the message if you want clients to call back. Your business phone is included in the default templates.
Costs and delivery
Each message of up to 160 characters uses one SMS credit. Longer messages use more. Delivery depends on the client's network and phone. Deyn shows sent, delivered or failed where the carrier reports it. We do not refund credits for messages the carrier accepted.
Country rules
Some countries require sender registration or restrict the hours and content of debt messages. You are responsible for following the rules where your clients are. We will remove messaging from an account that attracts carrier complaints.
