Security

A lending book has to be trusted by both sides

The client trusts that the balance is right. You trust that nobody has changed it. Here is how Deyn earns both.

Your data is isolated

Every record belongs to one business and stays with it. Separation is enforced at the deepest layer of the system, not just on the screen, so a fault in one page cannot show another business your clients.

✎

Nothing is deleted

A wrong entry is reversed with a matching entry, or corrected with a replacement. The original stays. The statement shows all three. The balance always adds up from the first line.

Everything is logged

Who signed in, who changed a client, who reversed a payment, with the values before and after and the time. The log cannot be edited or deleted by anyone, including us.

Sign-in that holds up

Passwords are never sent by text or email. New users choose their own through a link that works once. Admins can add a second step with an authenticator app or an emailed code. Platform staff must.

Keys kept encrypted

Connections to SMS and email providers use keys stored encrypted on the server. They are never shown again after entry and can be replaced in seconds if one leaks.

⌁

Short sessions, clean sign-out

Access tokens live minutes, not days. Renewal uses a secure cookie the page cannot read. Changing a password or a role signs that person out everywhere at once.

What we ask of you

Security is shared. These four habits cover most of the risk.

Turn on two-step sign-in for admins

It takes two minutes and makes a stolen password useless on its own.

Give each person their own account

Shared logins mean the audit log cannot tell you who did what. Accounts are cheap. Arguments are not.

Deactivate leavers the same day

One click signs them out everywhere. Their records stay, with their name on them.

Reverse, do not retype

If a figure is wrong, use Void or Correct. Retyping a loan hides what happened and breaks the statement.
